Indoor hockey

Every year, when the first half of the field competition comes to an end and the winter break is around the corner, many teams prepare for the indoor hockey competition. Early in the season, the indoor hockey committee is already busy preparing for the upcoming indoor season. HSC Hermes has a good relationship with the Royal Navy and can therefore use the unique location, the Marine Sports Hall of the KIM.

Indoor hockey is good for the technical development of (individual) players and by entering the hall as a team, this will benefit the level of the entire team.

What do you need for indoor hockey?

A number of specific pieces of equipment are required to play indoor hockey:

Indoor hockey stick;Indoor hockey glove (left hand with fully covered fingers);Indoor shoes (can be sneakers, but in any case not black soles!);Bite;Shin guards.

Goalkeeping in the hall

Goalkeepers receive clog straps without metal buckles through the materials committee. The use of clog straps with metal buckles is prohibited in the hall, even if they are covered with tape. The goalkeepers prefer to use indoor covers for their legguards.

The stick and glove in the hall are different from those on the field. The stick is much lighter and thinner (because pushing is only allowed in the hall) and the glove is larger and fully protects the fingers. Various sports stores often have good offers prior to the indoor hockey season.

Start indoor competition

The indoor competition starts almost immediately after the last field competition.

The competition schedule can be found on the KNHB website, LISA app and HSC Hermes website.

The training hours are aligned with the competition schedule. Competition weekends, public holidays, availability of trainers, etc. will be taken into account as much as possible.

The training schedule will be published in the training schedule in the LISA app and on the HSC Hermes website before the start of the competition.

Before the start of the indoor competition, referee meetings will be held at various clubs. On this evening, organized by the KNHB, federal referees provide a lot of information about whistling in the hall. Each team must provide one referee per match, so it is important that several parents know the rules in the room.

Each team will have "hall duty" one or more times during the indoor competition (usually during the match played in the Marine Sports Hall of the KIM). This means that as a team you are responsible for the ins and outs of a number of matches (keeping track of time and score) and also for the hall and changing rooms. The KNHB standings engine shows when your team is on hall duty.
