Youth hockey

Hockey is a team sport. Children learn through play to work together on the hockey field. You can't win a match on your own, but you can win together. Team building, sportsmanship and respect play a very important role. A trainer and coach are exemplary figures who must convey these concepts. Finally, the children are on the hockey field every week to 'learn' and continue to develop on both a sporting and social level.

(Youngest) Youth at HSC Hermes

The starting point for youth is that children are taught the basic (technical) skills of hockey in a safe and social environment and develop increasingly more competitively as they get older. We distinguish between 2 different age categories:

Youngest youth 4 to 9 years = Hummels and E&F teams
Juniors 10 to 17 years = A to D teams

There is a separate training program for each category that allows players in both categories to develop through play. The youngest youth groups and the older and more developed junior teams are put together by the Technical Committee and the Head Coach, who take friend requests into account as much as possible and also take player strength into account when putting together the junior teams.

Trainings
Youngest Youth

For the youngest youth, all children per category train together on one field with various experienced trainers under the guidance of a youngest youth coordinator. Because the entire category goes through the same exercises at the same time, the players are given equal opportunities to develop. The youngest youth coordinator has a direct view of the development of the players and can therefore, together with the trainers, make adjustments where necessary and recommend the optimal possible personal development program for each player to the Technical Committee and Head Coach.

Juniors

In the juniors, players train together with their team and each team receives its own training from a permanent trainer, tailored to the needs of the team and, where necessary and possible, the personal needs of the players. With a view to competitive development of players, trainers consult with coaches to offer a tailor-made training program. Since its inception in 1941, HSC Hermes, with its proven training approach, has trained and prepared several players for participation in one of the regional top (performance) teams. In short, HSC Hermes offers room for fun and ambition.
